Top 3 Best Selling Pressure Cookers You Should Buy

The numbers don’t lie. If you look at which pressure cookers are the most sold on Amazon, there are 3 that stick out from the bunch. They each have the “bestsellers” label attached to them along with an almost perfect 5/5 star rating from over 1,500 reviews by customers.

This means it’s probably hard to go wrong with any of these choices. If you don’t have time to browse through hundreds of pressure cooker reviews, then this article is for you. Since the 3 of them are fairly different, there is one that will surely meet your needs. Note: They are listed in no particular order.

1) Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 (Electric Pressure Cooker)

The first one we’re going to take a look at is an electric pressure cooker made by Instant Pot. Instant Pot is a Canadian company that makes arguably the best selling electric pressure cookers in North America. The brand is getting more well known across Europe too. Fans of Instant Pot call the pressure cooker “magic pot” because it’s turning even the most amateur home cook into Gordon Ramsay. 🙂

The Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 is their newest model which was created in 2014. It has some slight improvements to the previous generation IP-LUX60 6-in-1 pressure cooker. For example, the IP-DUO has dual pressure settings (high and low) as opposed to one (high). It also has new settings to make yogurt (which we find very awesome), fermented glutinous rice, and pasteurize milk. You can compare the DUO and LUX versions on the Instant Pot website. Both are fantastic pressure cookers. In fact, the IP-LUX60 is a best-selling model itself. It’s a little cheaper than the IP-DUO60 so if you compare both machines and figure you don’t need the added features of the IP-DUO60, then get the IP-LUX60.

The Instant Pot IP-DUO60 7-in-1 is the only pressure cooker of the 3 in this list that is electric. So it might be safe to say that this is the one you should buy if you want an electric pressure cooker. You might pick electric over stovetop if you don’t want to bother with monitoring the cooker. Plus, if you don’t consider yourself experienced in the kitchen, an electric pressure cooker provides an easier learning curve with its programmed settings. As chefs, we encourage people to cook their meals and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t when you have such a handy kitchen tool. 🙂

2) Presto 01362 6-Quart (Stovetop Pressure Cooker)

The Presto 01362 is a beautiful, minimalistic pressure cooker that works well with a variety of recipes and comes with an amazing price tag. No wonder Presto has sold so many of these. It is made out of stainless steel. It features  a simple steam release mechanism. But since it’s lightweight, you can carry this cooker easily to the kitchen sink to reduce pressure once cooking is finished if you prefer.

Given the cooker’s smaller capacity and low price, many consider this model a good starter cooker. Yet it’s a workhorse so don’t be surprised if it’s the last pressure cooker you ever got. It helps that the cooker comes with a 12-year warranty from Presto. The 6-quart is suitable for making meals for 2-4 people.

3) Presto 01781 23-Quart (Stovetop Pressure Cooker)

Ready for an upgrade from the Presto 01362? Then consider the Presto 01781, a 23-quart pressure cooker and canner. We’re big fans of this pressure cooker. It’s the pressure cooker that both Patrick and I use at the restaurant since it’s big enough. But it’s a great choice for households too because it doubles as a canner for preserving fruit, vegetables, pickles, jams, etc. You need a large enough pot to can. If you are new to canning, learning is easy with this canner. It comes with a 76-page instruction and recipe book.

Like the smaller Presto 01362, it comes with a 12-year warranty. We’ve had no problems with it so far and works just the same since day 1. Quality is not its only forte. The price tag is what you would expect from a Presto product. Low price and high quality make this pressure cooker a value purchase, as well as a bestseller! Check out our review about it here.

We hope this article helps you find the right pressure cooker. To summarize, we included one best-selling electric pressure cooker, one best-selling small stovetop pressure cooker, and one best-selling large stovetop pressure cooker and canner. That covers all the different types of pressure cookers you can buy, so we hope this will help you compare the bestsellers and pick one out!
